May I refer to your Savingram No. 193 dated 7th September, 1946, to the Governor of Hong Kong, a copy of which you sent to us, to our previous correspondence about the transfer of Hong Kong and Shanghai companies registered in England under Regulation 5 of the Defence (Companies) Regulations, 1940. We are being pressed by the companies concerned for information as to when application can be made for an Order under Regulation 5A of the before-mentioned Regulations directing cessation of registration in England.

We have informed them that, until the necessary legislation has been passed in Ilong Kong to enable them to be re-registered there, the Board are unable to take any action.

We should be grateful, however, if you would ask the ong Kong authorities to expedite the matter as much as is possible.
